Today’s forecast…Cloudy with a chance of Meatballs
Students from Avon East Elementary School, Avon Heritage South Elementary and Harris Elementary School shared the Story Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs by Jodi and Ron Barrett as a follow up to their Weather Unit. Mrs. McCaslin used the document camera to display the pictures as she read the story to both classes. The descriptions of the weather fronts were fun for all.
The students enjoyed hearing how the town of chew and swallow dealt with storm front consisting of pea soup fog followed by a weather front of fried chicken and coleslaw. The damage from the showering of meatballs forced the people to abandon the town of Chew and Swallow and head to a new land.
This was a great follow up to our students unit on weather as made our cold but snowy morning a little brighter. Thanks Amherst for sharing that great story with our students.
